Approximately 3700 therapists have been certified by NBCCH.  Listing on these NBCCH WebPages is by request.   Therefore, the professionals you find on the Find a Hypnotherapist pages represents only a partial list of NBCCH Certified Hypnotherapists.

If there are no NBCCH certified hypnotherapists listed on this website for your locale, you may request listings for your zip code area by e-mailing admin@natboard.com.   Be sure you provide your e-mail address, city, state and zip code.

The National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists, Inc. (NBCCH) was formed in 1991.  It has developed a certification program based upon high standards regarding the advanced academic education and required training in clinical hypnosis of the mental health or healthcare practitioners who seek the NBCCH credential. 

Certification as a National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, "NBCCH", does not mean that a certificate holder is qualified to treat every problem a prospective client may present.  Also, see “Certification Requirements”.

Please discuss the nature of the help you want with each practitioner when choosing a NBCCH Certified Hypnotherapist.  All practitioners certified by NBCCH are bound by the ethical standards of their specific fields of professional practice.  For more  Information about hypnosis and hypnotherapy, click here. 

The fact that any hypnotherapy practitioner is not certified by NBCCH does not necessarily mean he or she is not competent to practice.

Please note:  During the “grandfathering” period early in 1991, a few practitioners without graduate degrees and/or licenses to practice (many states required no licenses at the time) were certified based on having practiced for many years in the field.  Consumers are encouraged to check with every NBCCH practitioner as to the current status of their professional credentials.
