Since graduating from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and Community Planning in 1980, I have acquired professional and personal experience to help individuals who come with overwhelming feelings of helplessness, depression, and anxiety. When an individual feels hopelessly overwhelmed and suffers anxiety or depression I work proactively using brief therapies to help the individual, get rid of false beliefs, and shift his or her thinking, with the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We focus on life today and the immediate problem, on specific problems or patterns of behavior that are dysfunctional, and to explore new ways to think and act. The goal is to improve the client's perception of self, others, and the world as it is. I do not accept insurance, however, I have a sliding scale negotiated with the client and I see family members of active military pro bono. For clients who are home-bound for any reason from agoraphobia to having the role of sole caretaker of a relative at home, therapy can be delivered using skype, on-line. Please visit www.mdlcsw-c.com for details. Professional affiliations: NASW, Private Practice Committee, MD Society of Clinical Social Workers (MSCSW), International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), National Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapists (NACBT), International Society of Mental Health Online (ISMHO), MD Alternative Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO), and its subdivision MPME Maryland Program for Mediation Excellence (MPME). |
